The Blooming Branches Collection
The Blooming Branches Collection began during a green woodwork and chair-making course that Valentina attended in 2012 in Clissett Wood, an idyllic woodland landscape in Herefordshire, England. During her time working in the forest, she became fascinated by the expressive forms of fallen tree branches and collected several pieces that captured her attention.
Months later, Valentina brought these branches back to her native Mexico City, where she cast them and reinterpreted their organic forms in multicoloured stoneware ceramics.
The result is a poetic crossover between English nature and Mexican craftsmanship: a collection of lamps and sculptural ceramic objects that translate the raw beauty of the forest into contemporary design.
Each ceramic piece is individually cast, fired and glazed by hand. Finishes range from elegant monochromes to vibrant colours and metallic glazes, highlighting the intricate textures of the original branches.
The lamp bases are crafted from solid wood, finished with natural beeswax or lacquer. Lampshades are available in a variety of shapes and rich fabrics, allowing each piece to adapt to different interiors while maintaining its sculptural character.
Following traditional casting techniques, each mould has a limited lifespan of approximately 100 uses. In consideration of this process and the careful craftsmanship involved, The Blooming Branches Collection is produced as a limited edition of 70 pieces per style.
