MEX PAR S3383 1 J05 Light Console

MEX PAR S3383 1 J05  — Light Console

Console table with integrated light feature

The MEX PAR S3383 1 J05 Light Console transforms an unexpected industrial object into a sculptural piece of furniture. At its core lies a 1990s Jeep Cherokee radiator, repurposed as the central structural element of the console.

The radiator is supported by a custom steel structure with a refined brass finish, creating a striking contrast between mechanical engineering and contemporary design.

A dimmable Edison filament bulb sits within a vintage protective cage that can be opened or closed, casting intricate shadows and warm reflections across the 12 mm glass tabletop. The result is a piece that functions simultaneously as console, light source and sculptural object.

The full story and background of this piece can be found in the Provenance section.

    ErotiCuts – Occasional Tables

The ErotiCut-outs table is composed of four independent quadrants that together form a circular table yet retain the flexibility to exist as individual objects. Arranged together they create an intimate table for two; separated they become sculptural consoles, corner pieces or occasional tables.

Each surface features an illustrated narrative by London-based artist Miss Led, whose playful graphic language unfolds a surreal erotic fairytale—where mischievous forms, striped stockings and curious gazes inhabit a dreamlike landscape of humor and sensuality.

Blurring the boundary between art and furniture, the ErotiCut-outs tables invite both use and imagination, transforming the domestic object into a stage for narrative, curiosity and visual play.

Form Follows Fiction: The Adventure of Disorder
Master’s Thesis Project — Central Saint Martins, London, 2007

This table forms part of the collection “Form Follows Fiction: The Adventure of Disorder,” a project developed during Valentina González Wohlers’ Master’s studies at Central Saint Martins in London.

The project explores the idea of “Mexican Fiction” — or Mexicanity — as an adventure of disorder: an eclectic landscape of contradictions, passions, beliefs, sensations and irreverent energy. The table seeks to translate this vibrant cultural complexity into a functional object.

The structure is made from strand board (OSB), a construction material typically valued for its strength and resistance in heavy-duty and outdoor applications. Beyond its practicality, the material reveals a visually rich surface composed of compressed wood strands in varying natural tones—forming a chaotic yet captivating pattern.

Rectilinear cuts interrupt this organic texture, introducing a reticular geometry that interacts with the material’s inherent disorder. Rather than suppressing the natural pattern, the grid-like slices frame and articulate it, creating a composition that unfolds almost like a puzzle.

Layers of coloured acrylic elements bring lightness and functionality to the piece. The yellow top acts as a rotating tray—similar to a Lazy Susan—while the interior of the table functions as a storage container. When illuminated from above, the overlapping acrylic surfaces generate a subtle glow beneath the table.

The result is a low table where organic materiality and geometric intervention coexist, combining storage, rotation and light within a single sculptural object.

      Approx.Dimensions: 75cm x 68cm x 104cm, 45cm H.

Materials: Stainless steel, wood veneer, strand board and acrylic.

Finish: Acrylic paint and matt varnish.
